I am a photographer, author and lecturer working at the intersection of artistic photography, image theory and societal analysis. My work explores photography as a cultural and political practice, with a particular focus on questions of authorship, truth, power and image ethics in the age of digital and generative media.
After an early professional background in design and product development, I studied photography in Cologne and Berlin, where I completed a Master of Arts degree. Today, my artistic practice is research-based and often unfolds through long-term projects, publications and exhibitions. Photography, for me, is not a neutral medium of representation, but an active system of meaning that shapes perception, narratives and social realities.
Alongside my artistic work, I teach photography, media and image criticism at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Berlin and am involved in the development of contemporary photographic education. A central aspect of my teaching and research is the critical integration of generative artificial intelligence into photographic practice — not as a replacement for authorship, but as a field that requires reflection, responsibility and conscious positioning.
My work moves between camera-based photography, archival material, text and hybrid image practices, engaging with contemporary debates on media power, manipulation and visual truth.
